There's no denying that Cambie Village is special, and every business here has a story! Jane Rukaria is no different. A lawyer and notary public who opened her practice in 2007, she is admired for her resilience and courage, and has been a respected, well-loved presence in the community for nearly two decades.
Discover Jane's journey, beginning in Kenya where she first practiced law before moving to Canada. As a mother, immigrant, and Black woman building a new life, Jane faced challenges with determination and grace as she pursued her passion for immigration and refugee law.
She knew from a young age that she wanted to speak up for those without a voice and today, she does exactly that — helping newcomers, refugees, and families navigate some of the most difficult chapters of their lives.

Reading about Jane Rukaria’s advocacy for fairness really resonated with me. Standing up for community needs takes courage, persistence, and a vision for positive change. It made me think about how important structured support is when navigating challenges in our own lives. Programs like outpatient rehabilitation offer that kind of guidance—helping individuals regain balance while still staying connected to their daily routines and responsibilities. Just as community leaders foster fairness and well-being in their neighborhoods, these programs provide the tools and encouragement people need to rebuild their lives, maintain accountability, and achieve lasting personal growth.
